Hello, my name is David "Dave" Thomas
and I am your candidate for
Broward County School Board District 4.
As a teacher myself, I understand
the sacrifices teachers make to give
their students enriching educational
experiences.I believe at this
particular time in my life that I will
be able
to influence the education of
more students as a board member for
Broward
County than as a classroom teacher.
I believe that our students deserve a
quality education and that teachers
are the backbone of education. Every
teacher deserves fair, adequate
compensation. Having a sound financial
management system in place
is critical
to Broward's educational system. We need
to attract and retain
the very best if we want our educational
system to improve.
I have taught in alternative schools and
traditional schools; core classes
and elective classes. I will bring this
experience with me to the board to
fight for a quality education for each
and every student in Broward County
who wants one. I will fight for adequate
teacher compensation and hold
our representatives accountable for
their actions, keeping you informed
on what they are doing, and what they
are not doing, for our students and
our teachers.
Public service is a privilege, not a
right. It requires those who serve to
do it honestly with your best interests
and concerns at heart. It is my
promise to do just that- to put the
interests and concerns of the students
and teachers of Broward County above all
other interests.
I remain committed to leadership by
example and look forward to
bringing new insight and leadership to
Broward County's School Board,
District 4.
